Burnaby Narrows
Situated in Southern Haida Gwaii, BC, Burnaby Narrows is one of the richest inter-tidal zones in the world. Chili explored the area aboard the Maple Leaf, a 92-foot, 108-year-old wooden tall ship. Spending a week in the region, Chili was able to jump in the water with a wetsuit and mask in order to truly experience the undersea wonders and seek out inspiration for this piece. The brush strokes on the sea anemones are among some of Chili's most detailed work ... and note the rain forest scene in the upper right corner.
