well it's been a little bit since my last mail out but lots has been going on! ... where to begin...
The 9th annual Heavy Hitting B Grade Horror Film Festival has sold out yet again. It keeps getting better and better every year and keeps selling out... 1000 tix went in just under 2 weeks. I have been working on my submission for it this year. I filmed down in Nicaragua with with friend Brian Carson and we are nearing completion of it soon. The event will be at the Chateau Fairmont Whistler again this year in the MacDonald Ball room. The room is set like a classic movie theatre with huge chandeliers, tacky curtains and crazy carpets. The Horrorfest is one of the biggest nights of the year in Whistler and it all started from a hair brained idea from yours truely and has spun off into the largest and longest running horror film festival in Western Canada...not bad!
I have recently hooked with a Hydroponics company and have been commissioned to paint up a box and design some T-shirts for them. They are flying me down to Universal City CA to dj at a side stage for the Thievery Corporation/ Massive Attack show and display my art down there as well. I'm really looking forward to getting my art out of the sea to sky corridor. Right after that I am heading to San Fransisco to do some stuff for NBC on a new TV program. It's gonna be promoting Whistler and seeing as I love Whistler I said I'd do it (free trips always rule)
The main point of this email is to let you know about the upcoming show at my gallery. It's entitled 18A and it will be the last show I have here before I close the doors and move shop into an amazing house in the Alpine subdivision of Whistler. The Move will be great and will free up more time for me to paint. I have been turned into a business owner and totally squashed my creative side over the past year so it's time to get back into the creative saddle and start making some awesome stuff again!
The 18A show is a collection of nudes and erotica from 20 different artists and photographers. You have to be 18 years or older to get in due to the nature of the work... that should turn some heads in Whistler!! The show opening is on November 5th and promises to be a good time with some great art! The gallery will be closing for good as of November 21st and I will be moving shop to the house. The address is: 8316 Chalet Drive and the gallery phone number will still remain the same as 604 962 1962
I will be available for viewings by appointment or during my monthly open house/shows. So please make sure to contact me when you come up to Whistler and I will welcome you into my home and show my art in a comfortable setting. I will tell you stories about the pieces and we can sit down for a nice glass of wine...and maybe even a hot tub if you are so inclined!!
Here is the list of artists and Photographers that are participating in the show...it's gonna be hot so don't miss it.
