This piece was done for Chili's involvement with The Raincoast Conservation Foundation's project "Art for an Oil Free Coast" in the summer of 2012. Over 50 artists travelled to the Great Bear Rainforest on the Northern Coast of British Columbia to create works collected to help protest plans to lay a bitumen oil pipeline and tanker routes through some of the wildest and most pristine terrain in the province.

Chili Thom

Chili Thom was one of Canada’s preeminent landscape painters, with over 400 original pieces hanging in collections around the globe. Until his untimely death from cancer in 2016 at age 40, Chili lived in British Columbia’s Coast Mountains and pulled artistic inspiration from his time spent exploring the mountains, forests, and coastline of his home.
